Jim McElwaine: Dance Changes for piano (1974)

This piece was written for Monica Jakuc when she and Jim McElwaine were relatively new young faculty members respectively at Smith and Hampshire Colleges. It is a suite with movements that have seven syllable titles:

• Moderate: Hard Times for the Men from Mars
• Rhythmic: Afternoon of an Eggplant
• Rubato: Seventeen Carpet Sweepers
• Fast: More Sinister Than Popcorn
