Clifton J. Noble, Jr.: Trio Sonatina (1998)

According to Dana Maiben, the early 17th Century saw the first highly elaborated, virtuoso instrumental ensemble music in the thoroughbass tradition. Clifton J. Noble, Jr. Pays homage to this tradition in his Trio Sonatina, composed for Florentine Camerata on the occasion of its third anniversary in 1998. Dana Maiben, violin, Alice Robbins, cello, and Monica Jakuc, fortepiano gave its first performance in Florence, Massachusetts, as part of their chamber group’s series, Florentine Camerata…Then and Now.
